What is a brand strategy? Who's your target demographic? How do you perceive yourself? Is it aligned with how others perceive you? Why do you do what you do? What's the story? Why does your product matter? Where do you talk, what do yo say, and how do you say it?
All that, and then some, is what creating a brand strategy is about. A rather extensive preface to the visual part of brand design.
Quick analogy; your business is a boat and the brand strategy is about deciding whether it's a dinghy, sailboat, schooner, or mega-cruiser, and creating the blueprint for building the skeleton of the ship.
The part that comes after having mapped the brand strategically – what some designers refer to as "the fun part". From logos over colors to grid systems and everything in between, this is where your brand is applied and made visible out in the world.
The visual identity is the color of the hull, the ornaments on the railings, the symbols on the sails and flags, and the figurehead on the analogical vessel.
I have a couple of cameras and I know how to use them. I also have some spartan light setups for studio photography. And I love to shoot stuff. With the cameras, of course.
So whether you're looking for shots of your product, staff, or event I might very well be able to help.
If you want to showcase your analogical ship, a photography or maybe a video is a pretty good way of doing exactly that.
To fill the space I work in, I've decided to invest in gear. I can do high quality digital prints up to 1 meter wide, or I can do much less practical prints using my trusty hand press or my serigraphy carousel.
And for jobs that require more than I can do myself I know a guy.
A quality print feels good. Looking with your fingers is fun, and you can't touch SoMe post.
Want the photo of your dingy to hang on the wall in your office? Or maybe you'd like your analogical figurehead printed on some shirts?
Maybe, having read all of the above, you're thinking "Sheesh, seems costly...", and you might be right. Or you might not. Either way, if you're just looking for someone to grease the creative wheels and get the whole "Let's build a brand"-thing started, I'm a guy who can help you with that.
There are no bad ideas, just ones that lead to the better ones.
Let's talk about boats!
